报告题目:Optimal transportation and its link with Monge-Ampere equation

报告摘要:Optimal transportation is a tool to measure the difference of two data sets. It has become a useful tool in machine learning and data sciences. It has also found applications in areas such as optical imaging and geometry. As a result, it has been studied by many authors in the last three decades. The existence of optimal mappings can be obtained by Kantorovich’s duality. The regularity can be obtained by studying the associated Monge-Ampere type equation, which is a prototype of fully nonlinear partial differential equations. In this lecture, we will introduce optimal transportation, and review the existence and regularity theory.

报告人简介汪徐家,西湖大学教授,主要从事非线性椭圆抛物方程理论及其应用的研究,取得了一系列深刻的成果。解决了陈省身的仿射Bernstein问题猜想和Monge的原始最优运输问题。对Monge-Ampere型方程的正则性和位势理论以及平均曲率流的奇性刻画做出突破性工作。在2002年获澳大利亚数学会奖章,2007年获第四届华人数学家大会晨兴数学金奖,2013年获得澳大利亚桂冠学者(Laureate Fellowship)称号。
