报告摘要：This talk will explore a fascinating journey in modern mathematics, from the classical theory of Riemann surfaces to the emerging field of tropical geometry. Riemann Surfaces is a beautiful mathematical objects used to model multi-valued functions. Tropical Curves, by contrast, studies piecewise-linear structures that look like graphs made of sticks and trident trees. We will tell the fascinating story of how these seemingly unrelated worlds are deeply connected. By “forgetting” the smooth geometry of a Riemann surface and focusing only on its fundamental combinatorial skeleton, we can project it into a simpler, tropical space. This connection allows mathematicians to translate difficult algebraic problems into more manageable combinatorial ones, providing powerful new tools for solving old questions.
