报告摘要:We provide a few examples to illustrate the importance of reciprocal linkages between mathematical and medical community to develop mathematical methodologies and optimize medicinal treatment and public health policy. Mathematical models involve structured population models (renewal equations, delay differential systems) and spatial-temporal variations, mathematical concepts and theories involve threshold dynamics,  bifurcations and global dynamics, and medical and public health issues include behavioural changes of the populations, drug resistance, vector-borne disease spread, climate impact on health, and optimal decision under resource constraints.

报告人简介:Jianhong Wu is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. He is the founding Director of the Laboratory for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and the Inaugural Director of the York Emergency Mitigation, Engagement, Response, and Governance Institute (Y-EMERGE) at York University, Canada. He is recognized for his expertise and contribution in the following fields: nonlinear dynamics and bifurcation (scenario analysis); neural networks and pattern recognition; mathematical ecology and epidemiology; big data analytics. He is particularly recognized for his roles in coordinating interdisciplinary collaboration to develop mathematical and AI technologies to support decision making during a public health crisis.
