报告摘要:This talk is about properties of the first eigenvalue for the Sturm-Liouville problems. The accurate asymptotic formula of the first eigenvalue on the ``jump set” is given. The results indicate that the asymptotic behaviors is only related to the values of the coefficients of the equation in the neighborhood of the end points. With an application, we study the models from the genie selection under random drift in a population of finite size and reaction-diffffusion equations, discuss the monotonicity of the first eigenvalue with respect to parameters involved in both equations and boundary conditions. The infimum of the parameter which guarantee the monotonicity of the first eigenvalue is obtained.
报告人简介:Jiangang Qi is a professor of Mathematics at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Shandong University at Weihai. He received the M.E. degree in Mathematics from Shandong Normal University in 1988 and the Ph.D. degree from Mathematics from Shandong University in 2002. His research effort concentrates on boundary value problems and the spectral theories of differential operators. Recently, his main concern focus on the optimal recovery problems from finite spectral data and some related results have published on ``JDE”, ``Inverse Problems”, `` The journal of Spectral Theory”,``Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications”, ``DCDS(B)”.
